Hyderabad youth stabbed to death in London

A 24-year-old man from Hyderabad was stabbed to death in London on Thursday. The deceased, Md Nadeemuddin, a former resident of Noorkhan Bazaar, had migrated to London six years ago. His wife was to deliver their baby in a month.

According to family members in Hyderabad, Nadeemuddin was a manager in a company called Poundland in London. When he didn’t come home after work on Thursday, the family started searching for him. They heard about a body being found in the underground parking lot of TESCO supermarket.

The family members heard about a body being found in the underground parking lot of Tesco supermarket, which turned out to be Md Nadeemuddin. A complaint was lodged with the Thames Valley police who registered the case and have started investigating.

Family members in Hyderabad have requested the external affairs minister to help them get visas to travel to London to complete the last rites.

Faheem Qureshi, a friend of the family, told Deccan Chronicle, “Nadeemuddin went to London six years ago. Later his parents also shifted to London. Last year he was married to Dr Afsahana. She was due to deliver next month. The family in London are in deep distress. The brothers and other family members want to go to London and console them. We also want the funeral to be held in London as his wife can't travel to India in her condition. We request external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and Telangana state home minister Mohammed Ali, who was elected from the same constituency, to arrange the visas and flight tickets for the family in Hyderabad to travel to London.”

The post-mortem examination will be completed on Friday. In a press release, the head of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, detective superintendent Ian Hunter said: “The victim’s next of kin have now been made aware and are being supported by specially-trained officers. I understand that this would have caused concern in the community, but I would like to offer some reassurance to the public that we do not believe this incident to be a random attack.”

“We are in the early stages of this investigation and we are working hard to establish the full circumstances. There will be a police presence in the area today in an attempt to establish witnesses.”

According to the family, a suspect has been taken in for questioning but is yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man from Slough was arrested by Thames Valley Police Major Crime officers in Birmingham on Thursday night on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.
